Cooperation between 2 renowned machine builders
Investment in solving the housing shortage
Led by shareholder Anders Invest, Bos Machines International is acquiring H&M Woodworking Machinery. With this acquisition, the market leaders in carpentry and timber frame construction are joining forces. Sharing expertise enables both companies to strengthen each other and provide customers with even better service. Bos Machines thus broadens its market focus and can further shape its international ambitions. For H&M Woodworking Machinery, the acquisition means more investment opportunities to further expand its position in the transition to "home building in the factory. The companies, which from now on will fall under Bos Machines International, will continue to operate independently in the timber frame and frame industry while maintaining their own brand name and identity.
There is a global trend of sustainable, industrial housing construction to reduce the growing housing shortage. In this rapidly growing market, H&M Woodworking Machinery has established a leading position and also has a rapidly growing order book internationally. The projects for automated wood frame construction machinery are becoming larger and more complex. The acquisition by Bos Machines International enables H&M Woodworking Machinery to strengthen its leading position, expand and develop new innovations. Bos Machines develops and builds a wide range of CNC machine tools under the brand name BMH for the wooden frame industry in particular. Together, the companies will henceforth act in the industrial housing construction and wood processing industry segment.
Both H&M Woodworking Machinery and Bos Machines are of similar size and have over 35 years of rich experience in the world of woodworking machinery. Employees will continue to work from the current locations in Sneek and Vianen. The H&M dealerships of SCM and Eder & Müller Nederland, among others, will remain in place. This also applies to the other dealerships of both H&M Woodworking Machinery and Bos Machines. The international cooperation with the English Joint Venture partner J.J. Smith will be strengthened, which will further promote the international market position under the brand name MBA, 'Modular Building Automation'.
The chosen strategic development offers a valuable opportunity to combine the strengths of H&M Woodworking Machinery and Bos Machines and further position themselves as a reliable and committed partner in the market. Sharing expertise enables the companies to strengthen each other and provide even better service to their customers. This is a positive development that will benefit both customers and both companies.
